PRESCHOOL DAY TREATMENT PROGRAM Sally Kate Winters and Region 8 Mental Health have partnered to provide the Preschool Day Treatment program. This a therapeutic service designed for children ages 3-5 years of age which provides children with emotional/behavioral problems the intensity of treatment necessary to enable them to act appropriately at home and in more structured settings such as day care/school. The preschool day treatment is not intended to be utilized as a day care alternative; rather children considered appropriate for referral are those who exhibit inadequate social skills, impulse control problems, aggression, mood disturbances, and other disruptive behaviors. The overall goal of the program is to help the child learn how to interact appropriately with adults and peers, as well as to improve academic achievement by reducing or eliminating aggressive, impulsive or disruptive behaviors.
